I love being in the sun. It can lift my spirit and give me fast energy. When I am working on a challenging project or starting to feel a mid-day slump, taking a short walk in the sun can truly energize my mind and body.

Exposure to sunlight is thought to increase the brain’s release of serotonin, which is associated with boosting mood and helping a person feel calm and focused. Sunshine also produces Vitamin D naturally when your skin is directly exposed to sunlight. Getting a sufficient amount of vitamin D is important for regulating normal immune system function and the absorption of calcium and phosphorus. While there are so many wonderful benefits to being in the sun, too much sun exposure without proper protection is the number one cause of skin cancer and early aging. UV rays can also damage the tissue in your eyes.

Many of the specific skin issues that Restoracell with copper peptides can address have their root in too much sun exposure.

Sun damage is the most common cause of crepey skin. The ultraviolet light in the sun’s rays breaks down collagen and elastin in the skin that helps it stay tight and wrinkle-free. Once these fibers break down, the skin can loosen, thin, and wrinkle.

Ultraviolet radiation, which speeds the natural aging process, is the primary cause of early wrinkling. Exposure to UV light breaks down your skin's connective tissue — collagen and elastin fibers, which lie in the deeper layer of skin (dermis). Without supportive connective tissue, your skin loses strength and flexibility. The skin then begins to sag and wrinkle prematurely. Sun exposure can also cause an increase in melanin which results in hyperpigmentation of the skin, which typically causes brown and red spots and highly pigmented lesions.

It is hard to accept that the energizing, warm rays of the sun can wreak so much havoc on our skin. Fortunately, we do not have to stay out of the sun. We just need to protect and nurture our skin before and after sun exposure.

Restoracell, with regular use twice a day, can help repair sun-damaged skin. Its primary ingredient (GHK-Cu) copper peptides have been proven to tighten loose skin, improve skin firmness, elasticity, reduce fine lines and depth of wrinkles, reduce photodamage, mottled hyperpigmentation and skin spots and improve overall skin appearance.

Restoracell can also protect skin cells from UV radiation, reduce inflammation, and free radical damage. But, it does not work as a sunscreen. A mineral sunscreen must be layered on top of Restoracell in the daytime, even on a cloudy day!!! While clouds do reduce some of the sun's UV rays, they don't block all of them, as the Skin Cancer Foundation explains. ... UVB rays can also damage your skin year-round, cloudy or not.

Why mineral sunscreen? Many protective chemical-based sunscreens may increase your risk of sun damage. According to the EWG’s Guide to Sunscreens, in recent FDA testing, all non-mineral sunscreen chemicals absorbed into the body could be measured in blood after just a single-use, and many have been detected in breast milk and urine samples. These findings are troubling because they show that sunscreen chemicals are circulating in the blood and the FDA has indicated that the agency does not have enough information to determine whether the chemicals are causing harm.

Studies by the University of California, Riverside found that when UV radiation hits the sunscreen chemicals (such as octyl methoxycinnamate, benzophenone-3, and octocrylene) within the skin, these oils generate copious amounts of free radicals that injure cell walls, lipid membranes, mitochondria, and DNA which produce skin damage and visible signs of aging.

EWG has reviewed the existing data about human exposure and toxicity for the nine most commonly used sunscreen chemicals. The most worrisome is oxybenzone, which can cause allergic skin reactions (Rodriquez 2006). In lab studies, it is a weak estrogen and has potent anti-androgenic effects. (Krause 20212, Ghazipura 2017).

A safe sunscreen should not penetrate the skin and should never reach the bloodstream. I want sunscreens on my skin, not inside my body.

I want protection, no additional damage.

That is why I now use only pure mineral sunscreens containing titanium dioxide and zinc oxide that protect against UVA and UVB rays. Yes, they leave a whitish tint on my skin, but that is how I know they are protecting me.

Use your Restoracell products daily to restore skin damage caused by too many days in the sun and keep your skin safe by using a pure mineral sunscreen daily, rain or shine
